How long does it take to get and install pallet rack?

Standard teardrop sizes often quick-ship; high-density systems and non-standard sizes take longer, with lead time confirmed on the quote. Installation time depends on bay count and site readiness. We agree the delivery, staging and installation sequence before work starts.

What type of pallet rack do I need?

Selective teardrop rack is the starting point for mixed SKUs that need direct access. Pushback stores two to six pallets deep with LIFO rotation by SKU; pallet flow suits FIFO or dated stock; drive-in suits bulk storage of a few SKUs; cantilever holds long loads; carton flow supports case picking.

What size pallet rack do I need?

For standard 48-inch-deep pallets, 42-inch-deep uprights are a common starting point; common beam lengths are 96 inches for two 40-inch pallets, 108 inches, and 144 inches for three. Rack height depends on clear height and forklift lift height. Measure your actual loaded pallets, including overhang, before choosing dimensions.

What aisle width do I need?

Aisle width is set by the lift truck and its load: counterbalance trucks generally need about 12–13 ft, reach trucks about 8–10 ft, and very-narrow-aisle trucks about 5–6 ft. Confirm the truck manufacturer's requirement for your actual pallet and turning clearance; aisle width has a major effect on storage density.

How much does pallet rack cost?

Price depends on pallet positions, rack height, beam capacity, decking, freight and installation. Send your pallet size, heaviest load per level, clear height and building size for a free CAD layout and an itemized quote. We supply new material only.

Our Warehouse Racking Products

Compare six rack types for pallet storage, long materials and case picking. A layout can combine systems when inventory calls for different storage methods.

Pallet Rack

Also called selective pallet rack

Every pallet reachable, every time. The baseline we size everything else against.

Pushback Rack

Also called push back pallet rack system

Two to six pallets deep from one aisle, without giving up much reach.

Pallet Flow Rack

Also called flow through racking

Load one side, pick the other, and let gravity enforce first in, first out.

Drive-In Rack

Also called drive through pallet racking

Deep storage lanes replace intermediate access aisles, with the lift truck entering the structure to handle pallets.

Cantilever Rack

Also called cantilever warehouse racking

Arms with nothing in front of them, built for lumber, pipe, and anything a pallet can't hold.

Carton Flow Rack

Also called carton flow shelving

Cases advance to the picker instead of the picker hunting for cases.

Choosing Between Rack Types

Four things decide the answer: how many SKUs you carry, how many pallets you hold of each one, how fast product turns, and how much height the building gives you.

Many SKUs with a pallet or two each point to selective pallet rack. Several pallets of the same item favor pushback. Date-driven rotation calls for pallet flow. Large volumes of a few items in a tight footprint suit drive-in. Long material needs cantilever, and case picking needs carton flow.
